국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 니클라스 루만의 사회적 체계이론을 이론적 자원으로 활용하여 작동하는 체계로서 태권도의 특성에 대해 살펴보기 위해 디자인되었다. 이러한 연구는 형이상학적 존재론의 이론과 방법론에 따라 관찰되어진‘태권도’가 아니라‘태권도는 어떻게 구성되어지는가?’라고 하는 의문으로 시작하는 구성주의 인지이론의 관점으로 태권도를 관찰할 수 있을 것이다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 태권도는 추상적으로 설명 가능한 기능 체계들의 작동방식과 마찬가지로 환경과 구별하며 재진입을 통한 구별과 경계 긋기를 통해 고유하게 작동한다. 둘째, 태권도는 자기생산하는 체계이면서 매체를 활용하는 소통체계이다. 셋째, 태권도는 태권도 외부와 내부를 관찰하는 관찰 체계임과 동시에 환경 개방성에 따라 체계들과 구조적 접속을 통해 연동한다. 넷째, 태권도는 이항코드와 프로그램에 따라 매체를 생산하며 자기기술한다.

This study was designed to examine the characteristics of Taekwondo as a functioning system using Niklas Luhmann social systems theory as a theoretical resource. This study will be able to observe Taekwondo from the perspective of constructivist cognitive theory which begins with the question ‘How is Taekwondo composed?’rather than‘Taekwondo’observed according to the theory and methodology of metaphysical ontology. The research results are as follows. First, Taekwondo like the operation of abstractly explainable functional systems distinguishes itself from the environment and operates uniquely through distinction and boundary drawing through re-entry. Second, Taekwondo is a self-producing system and a communication system that utilizes media. Third, Taekwondo is an observation system that observes the outside and inside of Taekwondo and at the same time it interconnects with systems through structural connections according to the openness of the environment. Fourth, Taekwondo produces media and describes itself according to binary codes and programs.
