중도입국 청소년의 가족 및 사회적 관계 경험에 대한 질적 연구: 베트남 중도입국 청소년을 중심으로 = A Qualitative Study on the Family and Social Relationship Experiences of Later-Arrived Migrant Youth

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중도입국 청소년이 가족 및 사회적 관계를 형성하는 과정에서 겪는 경험을 심층적으로 탐색하고, 이들이 직면하는 어려움과 적응과정을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 ｢청소년 기본법｣에서 정의한 9세부터 24세 이하의 베트남 출신 중도입국 청소년 6명을 대상으로 2025년 2월 25일부터 3월 3일까지 심층 면접을 실시하였으며, 질적 사례 연구 방법을 활용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 중도입국 청소년의 경험은 ‘한국 생활의 도전과 기회’, ‘열악한 내․외적 조건’, ‘관계 형성의 긍정적 요인’, ‘한국과 본국의 신뢰 관계망’, ‘관계 형성을 위한 지원 체계’의 다섯 가지 상위범주로 드러났다. 분석을 통해 중도입국 청소년이 관계 형성 과정에서 차별과 배제를 경험함을 확인하였으며, 안정적인 가족 및 사회적 지지 체계가 이들의 성공적인 적응에 핵심적인 요인임을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 중도입국 청소년의 안정적인 정착과 사회 통합을 위한 정책적․실천적 개입 방안을 제언한다.

This study explored the experiences of later-arrived migrant youth in forming family and social relationships in Korea, focusing on the challenges they face and their adaptation process. Using a qualitative case study approach, in-depth interviews were conducted on six youths aged 9 to 24 years, as defined by the Framework Act on Youth, between February 25 and March 3, 2025. The analysis identified five main categories: “Challenges and Opportunities in Korean Life,” “Adverse Conditions,” “Positive Relationship Factors,” “Trusted Networks in Korea and the Country of Origin,” and “Support Systems for Relationship Building.” The findings revealed that discrimination and exclusion are common experiences during the relationship forming process. However, the presence of stable family and social support networks plays a critical role in promoting successful adaptation. The study concluded by suggesting policy and practical interventions aimed at strengthening support systems to aid the stable settlement and social integration of later-arrived migrant youth.
