The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the feng shui location of Hyanggyo, an educational and orientation institution in the Joseon Dynasty. It was confirmed that the location was taken into account the surrounding mountain stream topography and geographical environment based on feng shui ideas, such as the background of Hyanggyo, the spatial composition, and the characteristics of the feng shui of Hyanggyo, and the orientation function. It was confirmed that the space layout structure was planned and the building was built. The location selection criteria for feng shui geography were met by finding a site where the envoy protected all sides at Yongjinji, where the internal dragon vein ended, such as the process of selecting a location and analyzing the topography and geographical features. It seems that the government wanted to establish a traditional order that values hierarchy by selecting a location and cultivating the spirit of scholars in a good place where people can produce great people by looking at the surrounding terrain and geography. As a spatial concept, it was found that the educational goal of cultivating and delivering great talents in a sacred place that was aimed at the traditional society remained unchanged.
