다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract) kakao i 다국어 번역

The particle -ise has been proposed to be a nominative particle which expresses a number of people. This paper argues against this proposal based on grammatical properties, and claims that -ise is an auxiliary particle that has a very restrictive distribution. The particle-ise and -seo are allomorphs since -ise only, not -se, is a particle. The expressions which can be combined with -ise are found to be much more varied than proposed by previous research. Similar to -kkili, -ise has a meaning of ‘together’ and due to such a meaning, -ise exhibits restrictions on its distributions. -ise occurs in subject and adverbal positions. Especially, a putative subject with -ise, in some instances of sentences, cannot be taken as a real subject which is quantified. The particle -kkili, which is similar to -ise in meaning, exhibits restrictions on distribution, the same as -ise. Auxiliary particles, in general, have restrictions on distribution in Korean because of their meanings. The combinatorial facts with other particles also support that -ise is not a nominative particle but an auxiliary particle.
