도덕적 자기 인식의 두 측면: 도덕적 정화 및 허가, 도덕적 정체성 = Dual-Aspect of Moral Self-Perception: Moral Cleansing & Licensing, Moral Identity

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 도덕적 정화 및 허가, 도덕적 정체성의 의미와 작동 기제에 대하여 살펴보고, 두 개념 간의 공통점과 차이점을 규명하여 도덕과 교육에 주는 함의를 도출하는데 그 목적이 있다. 두 개념은 자아에 대한 도덕적 인식에 토대를 두고 있다. 그러나 도덕적 정화 및 허가는 도덕적 자기 인식이 행동으로 전이되는 개인내적 과정의 직관적인 측면과 관련이 있지만, 도덕적 정체성은 숙고적인 측면을 설명한다. 즉 두 개념은 도덕적 자기 인식의 서로 다른 두 측면을 보여주면서, 도덕적 행동에 다른 방식으로 영향을 미친다. 따라서 도덕적 자기 인식을 주된 목적, 내용 및 방법으로 삼는 도덕 수업은 도덕적 정화와 도덕적 정체성의 긍정적 기능은 유지하고, 도덕적 허가의 부정적 효과는 피하기 위해 보다 정교한 접근방법을 취해야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this study is to examine the psychological mechanism that moral cleansing, moral licensing, and moral identity influence behavior. And this study attempts to find the implications for moral education by revealing commonalities and differences between the two concepts. These two concepts are based on the moral self-perception. However, moral cleansing and moral licensing are related to the intuitional aspect of moral self-perception, but moral identity shows the deliberative aspect of moral self-perception. In other words, these two concepts affect moral behavior in different ways, showing two dual-aspect of moral self-perception. Therefore, moral lesson that sets moral self-perception as the main purpose, content and method should take a more sophisticated approach to maintain the positive function of moral cleansing and moral identity, and to avoid the negative effect of moral licensing.
