現代日本語における「そっこう」の意味拡張 = Semantic Expansion of “Sokko (そっこう)”in Contemporary Japanese

本稿は、現代日本語における「そっこう」を対象に、その副詞化過程をコーパス分析に基づいて明ら かにすることを目的とする。まず、辞書記述に基づき、「そっこう」の語源的背景を検討し、コーパスを用 いて実際の使用様相を検討した。その結果、「そっこう」は本来、「試合での攻撃」を意味する名詞 「速攻」が一般的な場面で用いられるようになり、その行動に対する迅速性・即時性を表す意味として 拡張した。さらに、副詞的用法として発展し、特に、意志動詞との強い共起がみられる。このことから、 「そっこう」は単なる即時性ではなく、話者の判断に基づく行為の即時性を表すことが明らかになった。 また、副詞「すぐ(に)」との比較から、「そっこう」は時間的経過に伴う自然発生事態には用いにくく、 話者の判断を前提としていることがわかった。 このような過程を通して、「そっこう」は名詞から副詞化し、現代日本語に定着していることが明らかに なった。

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines the adverbialization and semantic expansion of “sokko” in contem porary Japanese, based on corpus analysis. It shows that “sokko”, originally a noun mea ning “rapid attack” in sports contexts, has extended to general usage and developed into an adverb expressing rapidness and immediacy.
The analysis reveals a strong co-occurrence with volitional verbs, indicating that “sok ko” encodes both temporal immediacy and the speaker’s intentional execution of an actio n. This reflects processes of grammaticalization and subjectification.
“Sugu(ni)”, can describe naturally occurring events, while “sokko” presupposes speaker involvement and is less appropriate in this context.
These findings suggest that “sokko” has developed into a subjectivity-marking pragm atic adverb in contemporary Japanese.
