헤겔 미학을 통해본 음악교육의 방향 설정 = Music Educational Interpretation of Hegel’s Music Aesthetics

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 헤겔의 미학 강의에 나타난 음악 이해의 구조를 그의 철학 체계에 대입하여 음악교육의 철학적 조망에 기여하고자 한다. 헤겔은 관념론의 입장에서 음악에 대한 철학적 논의를 집중적으로 시도한 최초의 사람이다. 그에 따르면 예술은 관념을 감각적으로 구현한 것이다. 그러므로 예술로서의 음악은 관념을 구현하는 아름다움을 추구하여야 하며 나아가 정신적인 것을 담아낼 수 있어야 한다. 그 정신적인 것은 참됨과 아름다움의 합일이다. 이 합일의 지향성은 절대정신을 향한 인간 사고의 성향을 나타낸다. 하지만 음악적 활동은 종교와 철학에 이르는 하위 단계의 정신 활동에 해당한다. 따라서 음악교육에서 음악만으로 교육의 가치를 구축하기는 어렵다. 음악 미의 자율성을 체험시키거나 사회 속의 음악 활동을 지원하는 단계를 넘어서서, 음악 매개의 활동이 인간의 보편적 가치와 연결되도록 안내할 필요가 있다. 즉, 음악은 인간 정신의 고상함을 지향하는 예술로, 음악교육은 인간이 지향하는 이상적 삶에 부합하는 방식으로 수행되어야 함을 말한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to highlight educational value of music education in terms of philosophical thinking. This paper is limited to consideration of the idealism, especially Hegel’s aesthetics which has led aesthetic approach to musical reception until today. Drawing on the viewpoints of his aesthetic system in his philosophy, this paper proposes an aesthetic structure that enables music education to play a significant role for human beings. The author then considers some educational implications of this philosophical direction following Hegel’s dialectic. This discussion consequently provides points of observation showing that critical assumptions about the aesthetic concept of music in relation to education sprang from insufficient understanding of aesthetic approach in the philosophical idealism insofar as music as a social praxis should be an essential factor in the orientation to the absolute idea proceeding to human well-being.
