인공지능 시대의 음악교육: 창작의 교육적 의미 탐구 = Music Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Exploring the Educational Meaning of Creating

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 시기별 음악과 교육과정에서 ‘창작(Creation)’에 대한 교육적 목적이 어떻게 변화되었는지 비판적으로 검토하고, 인공지능 시대에 창작 활동(creative activity)의 교육적 의미를 재정의하는 데 목적을 둔다. 이를 위해 비판적 문헌 고찰 연구 방법을 적용하여 시기별 음악과 교육과정과 창작 관련 문헌을 비교ㆍ분석하였다. 연구 결과, 인공지능 시대에 ‘창작(Creating)’은 음악 학습 전반을 관통하는 사고의 과정으로서, 생성형 AI와 협업하는 과정에서 판단, 선택, 해석적 설명, 책임을 동반하여 음악적 의미를 형성하는 통합적 활동으로 재정의되었다. 본 연구는 인공지능 시대의 음악교육에서 생성형 AI를 창작의 위기가 아닌, 창작 활동의 본질을 다시 묻게 만드는 전환점으로 인식하고, 창작 교육의 교육적 정당성을 재사유하는 이론적 토대를 제공하고자 하였다.

This study critically examines how the educational purposes of ‘Creation’ in national music curricula have evolved across different periods and aims to redefine the educational meaning of creative activity in the age of artificial intelligence. To this end, a critical literature review was conducted to examine national music curricula across different periods in relation to domestic and international scholarly literature on Creation, Creating, and creative activity. The findings indicate that, in the age of artificial intelligence, Creating can be reconceptualized as a cognitive process that permeates music learning as a whole. Specifically, Creating is understood as an integrative activity through which learners construct musical meaning by engaging in judgment, choice, interpretive explanation, and responsibility while collaborating with generative AI. This study positions generative AI not as a threat to Creation in music education, but as a turning point that prompts renewed inquiry into the essence of Creating, thereby offering a theoretical foundation for rethinking the educational justification of Creation in music education.
