The purpose of this study is to develop preliminarily the knowledge base of curriculum as a field of study. Any field of discipline constructs unique base of knowledge as the field develops. In the process of quantitative and qualitative growth of the discipline, the community seeks to build the common and core knowledge, key domain of inquiry, and essential minimum skills. We consider the systematic structure of knowledge base as advanced and highly developed condition. The knowledge base provides a compendium of content knowledge and technical skills what practitioners and scholars should know and be able to as a result of their training in a specific discipline. Knowledge bases provide a structure for making informed decisions and can be derived from works, that are composed of essential knowledge, established and current research findings, and sound practices such as textbooks. The domain of inquiry and knowledge base of curriculum as a field of study was derived from two types of resources, analysis of synoptic text and item analysis of teacher employment test. As a result of these analyses, we can draw out 10 domains of inquiry (nature and foundation, history, theory and perspectives. design, construction and develop-ment, implementation and management, evaluation and quality control, change and policy, research methodology, field of study) and 35 key knowledges after carrying out Delphi-technique. These results are similar to the existing research findings but are unique in comparison with the prior findings. We should revise domain of inquiry and knowledge base of curriculum in flow of changing discipline.
