여자 고등학생의 흡연경험에 영향을 미치는 예측요인에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Variables Affecting High School Girls’ Smoking Experience

Purpose : This study was designed to identify the variables affecting highschool girls’  smoking experience through a comprehensive analysis of individual, family and socio-environmental factors. Method: The subjects of this descriptive survey on causal relations were 726 subjects enrolled in high schools selected on a convenience sampling basic. The data collected from June-July 2003 were put to logistic regression analysis to build a forecast model. Findings:1) Individual-related factors for high school girls’ smoking experience were drinking, running away from home, sexual experience, socialization traits among personality traits and stress.2)Family-related factors for high school girls’ smoking experience were flattering type among parent-adolescent communication type and physical ill-treatment among ill-treatment experience.3)Socio-environmental-related factors for high school girls’ smoking experience were contentment with school life, peer pressure and attitude toward delinquency, number of delinquent friends.
Conclusion and Recommendation : The experience of smoking among Korean high school girls was associated not only with individual factors, but also with family factors and socio-environmental factors that exerts such a strong influence on health behavior. There is therefore a need for school-based smoking prevention programs which deal with these influencing factors comprehensively. It is recommended that a program will be developed that can help control the variables identified in this study along with a follow-up study to verify the model.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 선행연구 및 문헌을 토대로 여자 고등학생의 흡연경험과 관련된 개인, 가정 및 사회·환경 관련요인에 대한 포괄적인 분석을 통해 대상자의 흡연경험에 영향을 미치는 예측요인을 규명하기 위하여 시도되었다. 연구 설계는 서술적 인과관계성 조사연구이다. 그리고 연구대상은 편의 추출된 고등학교에 재학 중인 여학생 726명이었고 자료수집기간은 2003년 6월부터 7월까지 이었으며, 자료 분석은 목표변수 선택방법(purposeful selection method)에 의한 로지스틱 회귀분석(logistic regression analysis)으로 인과성 관계를 검정하여 예측요인을 규명하였다.
본 연구결과를 요약하면 흡연경험의 개인관련요인으로는 음주경험, 가출경험, 성경험, 성격특성 중 사회성향 및 스트레스가 인과적 관계를 나타내는 예측요인으로 확인되었다. 흡연경험의 가정 관련요인 으로는 부모-자녀 간 의사소통 유형 중 비위맞추는 형과 학대경험 중 신체적 학대가 인과적 관계를 나타내는 예측요인으로 확인되었다. 흡연경험의 사회·환경관련요인으로 학교요인으로는 학교생활 만족도, 친구요인으로는 비행에 대한 친구의 압력과 비행경험 친구의 수가 인과적 관계를 나타내는 예측요인으로 확인되었다.
이상의 연구결과에서 제시된 이론적 틀은 여자고등학생의 흡연경험에 영향을 미치는 예측요인을 규명해 주고 있으므로, 여자 청소년의 흡연을 사전에 예방관리 하는데 기여 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 그리하여 실무적 측면에서는 여자 고등학생의 흡연경험에 영향을 미치는 개인, 가정 및 사회·환경 관련 예측요인을 사전에 파악하여 이를 관리하는 예방적 차원의 중재방안을 마련하는 데에 본 연구의 이론적 틀이 활용될 수 있을 것이며, 이론적 측면에서는 다각적인 측면에서 다차원적인접근으로 개발된 본 연구의 최종예측모형은 청소년 관련 이론의 발전에도 일면 기여할 것으로 사료된다.
