사회적 상황이야기 중재가 자폐성 장애아동의 의사소통 기술에 미치는 효과 = Effects of Social Stories Intervention on Communication Skill of Autistic Children

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 의사소통 기술에 어려움을 가지고 있는 자폐성 장애아동에게 사회적 상황이야기 중재를 사용하여 의사소통 반응, 의사소통 시도, 부적절한 의사소통에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다.
연구대상은 자폐성 장애로 진단 받았으며, 생활연령이 평균 9세인 아동 3명이다. 이 아동들은 3-4어문의 문장을 읽고 내용을 이해하며 언어로 표현 할 수 있는 아동으로 약물을 복용하지 않고 신체적 장애가 없다. 연구방법은 대상자간 중다기초선 설계를 하였으며, 사회적 상황이야기 중재를 사용하였다.
본 연구에 사용된 사회적 상황이야기 중재는 사회적 기술과 개념, 사회적 상황에 관한 정보를 객관적으로 기술함으로써 상황을 이해하는데 도움을 주는 사회적 상황 읽기의 일환으로 자폐성 장애아동의 사회적 상황에 대한 이해와 자발적인 의사소통을 돕도록 사용하였다. 자연스런 놀이상황에서 의사소통 기회가 제공되기 이전에 진행되도록 계획되었으며, 총 20회기 동안의 중재가 이루어졌고, 중재 후 2주간의 휴지기를 거쳐 4회기 동안의 유지기간을 가졌다.
연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 사회적 상황이야기 중재는 의사소통 반응의 빈도를 증가시키는데 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 놀이상황에서 의사소통 상대자의 선행진술에 대한 반응 또는 질문에 대한 대답이 기존의 화제를 유지하면서 진행됨으로써 의사소통 반응 빈도가 증가되었으며, 유지에도 효과가 나타났다.
둘째, 사회적 상황이야기 중재는 의사소통 시도의 빈도를 증가시키는데 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 의사소통 상대자의 의사소통 행위 없이 먼저 의도적으로 의사소통을 시도하거나 의사소통 상황에서 새로운 화제를 제시함으로써 기초선 기간 동안 매우 낮은 빈도를 보였던 의사소통 시도 빈도가 중재 기간 동안 증가를 보였으며, 유지가 이루어졌다.
셋째, 사회적 상황이야기 중재는 부적절한 의사소통 빈도를 감소시키는데 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 의사소통 상황에서 의사소통 상대자에 대한 무응답이나 내용과 연관되지 않는 부적절한 대답의 부적절한 의사소통 빈도가 감소되어 원활한 의사소통이 진행되었으며, 중재기간의 종료 후 휴지기를 거쳐 진행된 유지기간에도 효과가 유지되었다.
이상의 결과를 정리하여 보면, 의사소통 기술에 어려움을 가지고 있는 자폐성 장애아동에게 사회적 상황이야기 중재의 사용은 자발적인 의사소통 반응과 의사소통 시도 빈도를 증가시키며, 부적절한 의사소통 빈도를 감소시키는데 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to investigate on the effect of the response of communication, attempt of communication and inappropriate communication of the autistic children, having difficulty of the communication skill, by the method of using the social stories intervention.
The object in this study is 3 children aged 9 years in average, consulted, having autism. These children, understand the sentence composed by 3-4 words, able to express by the language, not taking the medicin and not having physical impediment. The method in this study, planning the multiple baseline across subject, using the social stories intervention.
The mediation of the social stories intervention used in this study, expressing objectively about the social technique, the conception and the information about the social situation, is the one way of the social reading, helping to understand the situation. And also, it is used to understand about the social situation and spontaneous communication of the autistic children. It is planned, in natural playing situation. Being planned, in natural playing situation, be progressed before the supply of the communication chance. 20 times of mediation were made in all, after passing the 2 weeks pause period, having 4 times of maintenance period.
The results obtained in this study are as follows.
First, the social stories intervention represented the positive effect to increase the frequency of the effect to increase the frequency of the response of the communication. In the circumstance of playing, the response of the pre-statement of the communication counterpart and the response of the question, progressed maintaining the existing topic, the frequency of the communication was increased and represented the positive result in its maintenance.
Second, the social stories intervention represented the effective result to increase the frequency of the attempt of the communication. Without the action of the communication of the other side, attempting the communication on purpose or presenting the new topic under the circumstance of communication, the trial frequency of communication, which expressed the such a low frequency in the period of the baseline increased in the period of mediation and made its maintenance.
Third, the social stories intervention represented as an effective result to decrease the frequency of inappropriate communication. Under the circumstance of communication, non- response of the communication counterpart and the inappropriate communication frequency of the inappropriate response not related to the context, harmonious communication progressed and after the end of the period of the mediation, the maintenance period progressed passing through the period of the pause, the effect was maintained.
Summerizing the results mentioned above, the use of the social stories intervention of the autistic children, having difficulty of the communication skill, represented as an effective way to increase the spontaneouse communication response and the trial frequency of the communication and to decrease the inappropriate communication frequency.
