Golf putting is a precise motion that requires fine control of ball movement over short distances and is influenced by multiple physical factors such as distance, terrain slope, and friction coefficients. Existing golf simulators mainly focus on swing mechanics and long-distance shots, which limits their effectiveness for detailed putting training. This study aims to develop a golf putting simulator using the Unity engine and physics-based simulation techniques. The system calculates the actual distance between the ball and the hole, derives slope values from height differences, and analyzes terrain inclination using terrain normal vectors. Visual assistance elements such as aiming lines, grid-based terrain guides, and physics-based predicted trajectories are provided using LineRenderer components. Impulse force, gravity projection, and friction drag are sequentially applied through a Rigidbody-based physics model to simulate low-speed putting motion. Experimental results indicate that providing distance and trajectory information improves putting success rates by approximately 18–25%. The proposed simulator can be applied to golf training systems and research on sports simulation UI/UX design.
