초등학생의 나무그림 묘사 특성

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of tree drawings created by
elementary children of varying ages and gender. We selected two classes from each grade
in an elementary school in Daegu, South Korea. Total subjects were 425 children(190 girls
and 235 boys). All subjects participated in tree drawing and the Raven intelligence test.
The developmental indexes for tree drawing referenced the models of Koch(1952) and
Shin(1982). SPSS statistical software 10.0 was used to analyze the date.
The developmental indexes were statistically significant with regard to the categories of
'background', 'size if crown', 'grafted branches', and 'fixed idea about crown's shape'.
Gender differences were statistically significant with regard to the categories of 'grafted
branches' and 'branches drawn under a crown'.
Through this study, it was discovered that tree drawings created by elementary school
children differed according to their grade and gender. Also, indexes of tree drawings were
different due to the cohort and cultural difference between Korean and non-Korean children.
Such differences must be considered when using tree drawing tests to perform clinical
diagnosis.
