다문화 가정의 실태와 사회정책 방안 연구 = A Study on Social Support System for Multi-culture Families

There are about one million foreign people which consist of two percent of the whore population. Though it is necessary to accept multicultural families as true members of our society, we have not yet had serious chances to think about and find measures to deal with 'differences'that come from various racial and cultural backgrounds. I would like to find out the limitations of current social adaptation support system for multicultural families through the complex and systematic analysis on the economic and social aspects of Women's social adaptation. As a result, 1.it is shown that these migrant females are not outright Koreans but people who have transnational identities and they are offering us a chance to review our position in terms of realizing multiculturalism when we insist on having our own familiar way of life. 2. as Christians we need to pursue to resolve the divergence between the majority and the minority, and to remove discrimination in cultural, social, economic, and ultimately political spheres. I want to suggest, more that anything else, a systematic and integrated support policy for making proper social circumstances for the female marriage immigrants. their family members, and their children to live well as members of our society.
