The beneficiation steop of platinum group metals are dependent on the mineralogy of the ore and the method how they are going to refine. The PGM ores contain with sulfur and/or arsenic and also in the form of alloys. Gravity separation and flotation are most commonly used to recover PGM, but in general, their recoveries are very poor. The floatabilities of platinum bearing ores such as sulfarsenide were affected by the mixed potentials. The results of surfasenide mineral was readily floatable at natural pH, but was more susceptible to oxidation. Solvent extraction was used to extract Pt, Pd, and other PGM metals from the leacheate metal. The platinum was recovered by extracting before Pd in the presence of NH4Cl. The purity of PGM metals might be upgraded through the purification process up to more than 99 %.
