During the past decades urban transit has grown to the principal public transportation. As unexpected failures/accidents occur, more systematic approach for securing safety and enhancing reliability of urban transit has been required. In this research, we aim to develop the reliability evaluation system to predict life-cycle of equipment which have critical influences on the entire system by using RCM(Reliability Centered Maintenance) technique. For systematic collection and analysis of failure history, BOM(Bill Of Materials) creation and standardization of failure code classification have been first done. For development of the reliability evaluation system, RBD(Reliability Block Diagram) is constructed based on BOM, and RAMS(Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) analysis and FMEA(Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) have been performed. Ultimately, this developed system issues a list of parts which are needed to be inspected and repaired.
