익재 이제현의 풍모와 시세계 = IkJae Jae-Hyun Lee's Appearance and Poetic World

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Through this thesis we have looked into the connection between Jae-Hyun Lee's life, character, poetics maintaining poetic point of view, and main trend of poetic circles. Though the matter how to connect writer's character, literary thought and literary works is under discussion in literary criticism, correct comprehension writer -who is subject of cognition and figuration- is necessary for rightful explication literary works.
The summarized outline of this thesis is as follows.
As seeing his life, Jae-Hyun Lee had passed "Kwagŏ(科擧)" when he was 15 years and had been in the government service for more than 60years. He was a wise subject with a great ambition to educate roles as faithful subjects and also in humble way he always searched his conscience to be a devoted subject.
In poetics he tried to create a new meaning of poem, use elegant poetic words and deep meanings veiled in face words.
In those days Koryo was obeyed in Yuan(元) therefore his political ability remained faithful for Koryo's restoration to the last. This attitude was revealed through a lot of poems including historical poems. Domestically, he truly loved people and searched for the way to save the people from distress moreover he felt sympathy simple and true emotion of people so that he wrote ‘Soakbu(小樂府)’.
Looking into the stream of poetic world, spirits of patriotism, nostalgia, filial duty, actuality criticism, loving people and naturalism are dominant over all the others.
As stated above his poetic world it is enough to find out that Jae-Hyun Lee was a great master and a pioneer of Korean Chinese poetry.
