Entering into an aging society might affect an economic development. First of all, the size of the most productive population has been decreasing, but the group of the low productivity or the retired keeps growing rapidly. Therefore, the role of aged worker becomes important in the economy to maintain the certain level of an economic development. Within this context, it is substantial to remove the negative factors on productivity of aged labor force. This study examines the effect of frequency of health care service use, subjective health status, and depression on absenteeism of aged labor force. As experiencing depression and the high frequency of health care service use, aged workers report many absent days. Therefore, we need a program, like a workplace health promotion program, to prevent these negative factors, and then to raise the productivity of aged labor force.
