The purpose of this study is to identify the differential influence of multicultural acceptance on adolescents’ attitudes toward refugees and to derive implications for civic education. For this purpose, a multiple regression analysis was conducted using youth data from the ‘2021 National Multicultural Acceptance Survey’ conducted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. The analysis results are as follows. First, among the sub-factors of multicultural acceptance, it was confirmed that cultural openness had a positive effect in the diversity dimension, while stereotypes and discrimination had a negative effect. Second, in the relationship dimension, the one-sided assimilation expectation factor had a negative effect on adolescents' attitudes toward refugees. Third, in terms of universality, the will to act as a global citizen confirmed a positive effect, but the double evaluation confirmed a negative effect. Based on these research results, this study drew educational implications for improving the overall attitude on refugees by adolescents. First, the necessity of education on the characteristics of refugees distinct from migrants was proposed. Second, when dealing with refugee issues in classrooms, it is necessary to create an environment in which students can deeply understand and sympathize with various situations and voices of refugees. Third, in civic education and social studies education, ethical and social issues related to the refugee issue should be discussed, and through this, students should be guided to develop critical thinking and social empathy skills. This could be actively carried out in civic education and social studies.
