세계화 시대의 보편화 가능성 탐구 = A Study on the Possibility of Universality in an Age of Globalization

국문 초록 (Abstract)

세계가 하나의 문명으로 결속되고 있으며 지구촌이 시공간을 뛰어넘어 하나의 공동체화 하고 있다는 점이다. 이 논점은 경제 중심의 일차적 세계화 질서에 대응하는 대안으로서 세계질서를 안정적으로 유지할 수 있는 이차적 세계화 질서를 구성할 필요성을 제공한다.
이 글에서는 세계화 현상에 대한 철학적 정당화 가능성을 모색하고 있다. 이 정당화는 선험화용론에서 제시한 의사소통 공동체 이론을 중심으로 고찰하고 있다. 보편적으로 타당한 정의의 원칙은 필연적으로 이미 항상 논증하는 모든 사람들을 무제한적인 의사소통 공동체의 구성원으로 상정한다. 그 원칙은 이런 의미에 있어서 특정한 공동체의 구성원들에게 뿐만 아니라, 모든 가능한 의사소통 당사자와 관련해서 인정되어야 한다. 따라서 그것은 엄격한 의미에 있어서 모든 문화전통과 관련해서 그리고 또한 모든 좋은 삶이라는 개인적인 구상과 관련해서도 비당파적이다.
이 글에서는 의사소통 공동체 이론과 선험적 공동체주의는 이러한 틀을 만드는데 있어 매우 설득력 있는 철학적 방안을 제공하고 있다는 점을 논증하고 있다. 세계시민 공동체의 모든 구성원들에게 그 공동체를 가능하게 하는 조건으로서 생존권과 평등한 권리를 부여한 논점은 정당화 가능하며 현실적인 적실성도 겸비하고 있다는 점에서 다른 이론에 비해 변별력을 갖고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As world markets become more and more integrated into a single global market, human lifestyle and way of life are getting similar. So, we need to extend our focus beyond markets to better understand a community of global civilisation. In this paper, I identify the negative effects resulted from the first order of globalization with emphasis on economic globalization, and then suggest the second order of globalization as an alternative for the first one. The second order of globalization functions in maintaining the stability of the first one.
I try to address the philosophical justification of globalization. This philosophical justification is made with focus on the transcendental pragmatics based on the theory of communication community. According to the theory of communications community, transcendental communitarianism presents world citizens as the members of communications community. The members are granted equal rights and qualification. It means that world citizens are guarnated to participate in the communications community with no limitation. Based on this logic, the theory of communications community sets up the conditions for the community of world citizens.
The philosophical justification gives birth to the universally valid principles of justice. From the viewpoint of transcendental communitarianism, the theory of communications community not only acknowledges the diversity of cultural tradition, but also demonstrates the possibility of maintaining the universal principles. So, the theory provides a guidline for forming a community of world citizens beyond the first order of globalization.
