    This study tries to look into the movie < L`Appartement > screened in 1996 based on a viewpoint of realism and psychology. The story has two point of view. This dual view intends that an audience has to reconstruct the reality of the movie. A character who is in the middle of the visual field is not a all-knowing observer, but just a relative observer. So, this style of dual view implies a certain meaning that the real world is much more complicated structure not a simple one. As a same context, The characters are symbolized as a large group of people who are lonely and uneasy in the modern society. This way of seeing in < L`Appartement > is based on a viewpoint of realism. On the other hand, There is another viewpoint in < L`Appartement > with a viewpoint of realism. That is an aspect of psychology. A protagonist, Max has had some anxiety and uneasiness about social processes named success in life. Therefore, Lisa`s various traces overwhelming Max make him remind a desire and a passion that is disappeared. But another lady, Alice replaces a roll of Liza as a object-cause of a desire. Lisa`s empty room represents a space of libido. Specially, The scene, Alice-window-Max in airport is profound in meaning. The situation that Max is blocked with window symbolizes a figure of split subject wandering between a desire and a suppression. In conclusion, < L`Appartement > has a double structure. It shows a isolated individual who lives lonely in modern society and is divided with father`s law and law of a desire at the same time. The former one can be explained well by realism. And the latter one can be analysed by psychoanalysis. When audience watch the movie, they feel identity with the characters. That is the unique way of this movie.
