This study focused on catholicism in his poetry. First of all, abstrated image of death from his poetry and then, linked it with catholicism view of the world beyond.
As a result of that, image of death in Jung Ji Yong's poetry mostly appeared as image of rising which means 'bird' or 'flight'.
Ji Yong figured a human being as a bird or a feathered creatures that can fly toward heaven. This image of bird all symbolize resurrection view of catholicism. That is, resurrection view of catholicism in Jung Ji Yong's poetry is that a human being, after death, revives as a form of bird, flying toward heaven. Therefore Ji Yong's life was loyal to catholicism, and he was true catholic poet who figured catholicism in his poetry.
