시각장애인의 Blind Golf 참여를 통한 여가 경험 탐색 = Exploring Leisure Experiences through Blind Golf Participation by the Blind

This study purports to identify what blind golf means to visually impaired people as a leisure and what changes are made to life by playing golf. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, we examined four visually impaired people participating in blind golf as participants. The method of collecting data includes in-depth interviews, literature and various reports related to sports, leisure and golf. The results obtained through the above research are as follows: First, the visually impaired had the question of ‘Can we really play golf ourselves?’ and they were experiencing intrinsic conflicts due to the cost of playing golf. In addition, they were hesitating to start playing golf due to fear of social prejudice against the visually impaired people. Second, the visually impaired people who started playing golf found it interesting as it does not involve any physical contact or excessive competition. They were satisfied with communicating with people playing golf and volunteers by playing golf, and this helped to enhance the value of life and motivation. Lastly, the visually impaired people were found to suffer from different kind of discrimination in the organization or group of disabled people, despite the fact golf provides motivation, relaxing time and energy of life. The issue of discrimination and pressure against disabled people, which have been constantly raised for a long time, is improving by social and institutional efforts, however it is happening with the minority group.
