Gardner와 Feldman에 기초한 유아 음악능력 측정도구의 타당화 = A Validation Study of a Musical Ability Test for Young Children

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 Gardner와 Feldman이 진행한 프로젝트 스팩트럼의 다중지능 이론에 기초하여 음아 지능의 개념과 펴아 내용 및 준거를 개발하고 평가 활동을 선정하여 한국 실정에 맞게 검사 도구를 개발하였다. 만4세 아동 378명을 대상으로 2002년 8월부터 12월까지 검사가 실시되었고, 채점은 영역별로 2-3명의 음악교육 전공자들에 의해 이루어졌다. 검사 실시와 함께 타당도 분석, 검사의 신뢰도, 채점자 점수의 일치성 분석과 함께 교사와 학부모에 의한 설문조사로 유아의 음악능력에 대한 판별 타당도를 검토하였다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 유아용 음악능력 측정 도구는 유아의 음악능력을 측정할 수 있는 적합한 도구로 판단되고, 실제 현장에서의 적용성을 높이기 위해 도구의 표준화 작업 등 후속 연구가 진행되어야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was designed to develop a musical ability test for young children, which could be appropriate for Korean cultural contexts, Projects Spectrum, which had been conducted by Gardner and Feldman during 9 years from 1983 to 1992, was a concrete basis for development of the test. The 378 preschool children were sampled in Daegu and Kyung-Buk areas from August to December in 2002. Various reliability and validity evidences were collected for the purpose of validation of the test. Item difficulty and discrimination analyses showed most items were in proper levels. However, some items in number of unit, grouping, and contour of pitch seemed reliability easy, and several items in value interval appeared reliability difficult. Split-half and internal consistency reliability coefficients ranged from 0.5 to 0.7. The inter-rater reliability appeared reasonable with values from 0.5 to 0.8. considering that rater training was not implemented. The judgemental evaluation of children's musical abilities by teachers or parents had been compared to empirical test scores. The results supported the validity of the test on one aspect. The musical ability test for young children developed in this study seems a proper measurement tool. Thus, further studies such as standardization and scaling would be needed for more frequent use of the test.
