사회과학 Ⅲ+Ⅳ 분야 DB 구축 사업

국문 초록 (Abstract)

전남대사업팀은 연구결과보고년도 기준, 2002년과 2004년 학술연구조성사업에 의해 지원된 277개 과제(정치학 70개, 경영학 154개, 무역학 12개, 회계학 37개, 복합학 4개)와 2000년과 2001년 지원된 439개 과제(정치학 150개, 경영학 224개, 무역학 17개, 회계학 47개, 복합학 1개)를 더하여 총 716개 과제의 자료수집, 메타데이터 작성, FRBR 시스템 입력 등을 수행하였다.
전남대사업팀은 3단계의 과정을 거쳐 사업을 수행하였다. 1단계에서 예비조사, 자료수집, 현지방문조사를 통해 연구결과물, 중간산출물, 원자료를 적극적으로 수집하였고, 2단계에서는 원문 자료의 디지타이징과 메타데이터 입력을 수행하였으며, 3단계에서는 보완조사와 FRBR시스템 입력 및 품질 검증을 수행하였다.
이 사업팀의 사업수행 성과를 크게 사업팀의 전략적 활용, DB구축의 양적 및 질적 성과 등 3가지로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 먼저 사업팀은 전략적 활용의 측면에서 사업경험을 보유한 연구인력을 통해 성공전략과 노하우를 사업팀 전체에 확산하여 자료수집과 DB구축의 전문화된 지식을 공유하였다. 또한 실무인력을 전공분야별로 배치하여 자료수집의 전문성을 높였고, 다수의 연구보조원이 사업에 참여하도록 하여 자료검색과 IT분야의 실무능력을 배양시켰다.
둘째, DB구축의 양적 성과는 표현체 3,899건(단행본 25, 보고서 885, 학술논문 1,117, 조사자료 165, 사진 이미지 3)과 실현체 4,984건(PDF 3,903, JPG 851, AVI 226, 기타 4)에 달하는 자료를 수집하여 FRBR시스템에 탑재한 것이다.
셋째, 이 사업팀은 수집된 연구성과물의 질적 분석을 통해 과제를 충실히 수행하고 학술적 가치가 있는 연구를 발굴하였다. 연구수행과정에서 나온 중간산출물과 원자료를 다수 확보하여 이를 FRBR시스템에 탑재함으로써 후속연구자에게 의미있는 소스와 가이드라인을 제공하였다. 또한 완성된 결과물 가운데 SCI, SSCI급의 외국저널에 발표된 다수의 논문을 수집하여 FRBR시스템에 탑재함으로써 학술진흥재단의 지원을 통해 완성된 연구결과물의 우수성을 검증하였다. 마지막으로 이 사업팀은 양질의 자료를 수집하기 위해 12회의 전임연구원 회의를 가졌으며, 이와 병행하여 자료선정위원회 회의 8회, 검수위원회 회의 3회를 개최하여 자료선정의 기준, 성공적인 수집사례 경험의 공유, 교차검증을 통한 검수작업을 수행하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purport of this project is to 1)build up a system for efficient use of national knowledge resources, 2)manage, share and propagate results of academic researches in systematic ways, 3)build up a foundation for Korean Research Memory(KRM) as basic academic data center and information system, and 4)provide researchers with raw data, intermediate outputs and final results of research in each academic field, which are very useful and valuable for them. The detailed goal of this project is to collect and analyze data on research findings including raw data in political science, business administration, international trade and accounting, which were selected as academic assignments by Korea Research Foundation(KRF). Next, this project focuses on digitizing original texts of collected data to complete metadata input and database system.
If a series of these procedures are finished, an integrated knowledge and information system will be established in KRM, while there will be a framework established for systematically managing, sharing and propagating academic data and research findings, which will make it possible to keep academic data permanently and provide extensive academic data for follow-up researchers. Chonnam National University project team finished data collection, metadata creation and FRBR system input across 224 assignments in political science(70), business administration(154), international trade(12) and accounting(37), interdisciplinary study(4) which were supported under the 2002 and 2004 Academic Research Promotion Project based on year of result report. Also, the 439 assignments in political science and International relation(150), business administration(224), international trade(17) and accounting(47), interdisciplinary study(1) which were supported under the 2000 and 2001 Academic Research Promotion Project based on year of result report. We performed total 716 assignments.
This project went through the following 3 steps: Step 1 focused on preliminary survey, data collection and survey. Step 2 focused on digitizing and metadata input of original text data in accordance with standard guidelines. And Step 3 focused on complementary survey and data input in FRBR system. Also, this project finished independent inspection and assessment on those input data. Particularly, Data Selection Committee was run to specialize in data collection, and operated a data verification commission.
In order to collect quality data, this project team held 12 meeting sessions based on senior researchers, and also discussed inspection works by posing data collection issues, preparing data selection criteria, sharing successful data collection cases and performing cross-validation. In view of quantitative results of database creation project, it is found that expression data are classified into separate volumes, reports, academic theses, survey data, images, video clips and loose data. Database system contains extensive data such as total 4,984(3,899 expression cases and 4,984 manifestation cases(including PDF, JPG, AVI etc.)).
