우암(尤菴) 송시렬(宋時烈)의 『찬정소학언해(纂定小學諺解)』 편찬(編纂)·간행(刊行) 경위 = The details regarding the compilation and publishing of 『Chanjeong Sohak Eonhae(纂定小學諺解)』 by Uam(尤菴) Song Si-yeol(宋時烈)

Song Si-yeol is registered as the author of the Chanjeong Sohak Eonhae, which was published in 1693 as a Hangeul (Korean alphabet) handbook for 『Sohak(小學)』. However, since there is no physical presence of this book, Chanjeong Sohak Eonhae, there is almost no information regarding the background and behind story on the creation of this book.
At first, the compilation of the Chanjeong Sohak Eonhae had started by the suggestion of Hong Myeong-ha(洪命夏), whose purpose was to correct the critical mistakes found in the 『Sohak Eonhae(小學諺解)』, of which 『Sohak Jibseol(小學集說)』 of Jeong Yu(程愈) was the base script. The new Hangeul edition project was led by the government officers belonging to the Seoin group(西人係) including Song Jun-gil (宋浚吉) and Song Si-yeol. It is also well supported by the fact that Song Jun-gil and Yi Yu-tae(李惟泰) gave opinion to the opinion collection of Hyeonjong(顯宗) and Song Si-yeol passionately executed the work of editing and correction.
Later, Yi Dan-ha(李端夏), who had been the person-in-charge(執事) of the Chanjeong Sohak Eonhae project, had been transferred to Ministry of Interior(吏曹) and Park Se-dang(朴世堂) succeeded the position. Park Se-dang found out the issue that the annotation of existing Sohak Eonhae was not within the main meaning of the script and continued accurate historical evidencing and revision work. Consequently, Park Se-dang received big compliment from Song Si-yeol during the final compilation stage. Therefore, it is fair that the actual authorship of the Chanjeong Sohak Eonhae should be assigned to Park Se-dang. Meanwhile, the new Hangeul handbook lost its function as a replacement text because Sukjong(肅宗) and Namin group(南人係) expressed big dissatisfaction on 『Sohak Jibju(小學集註)』 by Yi Yi(李珥), which was the base script to Chanjeong Sohak Eonhae.
