궁택현치(宮沢賢治)의 서역(西域)과 관련된 작품의 기원에 대하여 - 도지대등(島地大等)와의 관계를 중심으로 - = The Origin of the Kenji Miyazawa’s Western Regions Stories-Relationship with Daito Shimaji-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

宮沢賢治는 서역(西域)에 관련된 작품을 많이 창작했다. 그 가운데는 ‘天竺’, ‘西藏’, ‘龜茲’, ‘于田’ 등과 같은 많은 서역(西域) 지명이 나타났다. 지금까지의 선행 연구에서 宮沢賢治의 작품창작에 있어서 「法華經」의 영향에 대해서는 활발히 논의되어 왔지만 근대 ‘中亞探険’의 영향에 대해서는 그리 논의되어 오지 않았다. 金子民雄이 가장 먼저 ‘西域’, ‘西藏’, ‘印度’, ‘中東’ 네 부분으로 나누어 宮沢賢治의 서역 관련 작품을 분석하였는데 그 후 이와 같은 분류법이 많은 연구에서 널리 이용되어 왔다. 그러나 宮沢賢治의 24편(시, 동화, 편지 등을 포함) 서역 관련 작품 가운데서 위의 네 부분으로 분명하게 구분할 수 없는 것도 있을 뿐더러 작품의 기원에 대해서도 아직 꽤 많은 의문이 남아 있다. 이에 宮沢賢治와 島地大等과의 만남이 그의 서역 관련 작품창작에 적잖은 영향을 주었으리라 추정되며 기존의 연구도 재검토해 볼 필요성이 대두된다. 이에 본고에서는 宮沢賢治가 남긴 편지, 노트 등을 면밀히 분석해본 결과 그의 서역 관련 작품 창작에 있어서 「法華經」의 영향뿐만 아니라, 島地大等와의 만남과 근대 ‘中亞探険’ 등도 아주 큰 영향을 주었음을 발견할 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Kenji Miyazawa created many Western Regions Stories. Many Western region names such as “Indiai”, “Tibet”, “Turtle” and “Hotani” can be seen in the work. Previous studies so far has often discussed the relationship between Kenji and the Hokke Sutra, but the relationship between Kenji and the exploration of modern Central Asia has not been pursued very deeply. Tamio Kaneko is energetically researching Kenji’s Western Regions Stories. However, of all Kenji’s works (poems, fairy tales, letters, etc.), there are about 24 pieces that include western elements. An analysis of this group of works revealed that Kenji’s Western Regions Stories were not always so clearly divided. Moreover, many questions remain about the origin of Kenji’s Western Regions Stories. There is still room for consideration regarding the encounter between Kenji Miyazawa and Daito Shimaji, and their influence on the creation of Kenji’s Western Regions Stories. This paper refers to the materials such as letters and notes left by Kenji Miyazawa, develops the theory from the relationship between Kenji Miyazawa and Daito Shimaji, and discusses the relationship between the exploration of modern Central Asia and Kenji’s Western Regions Stories.
