지속가능발전교육(ESD)의 지역사회연계·대학교디자인교육 실천연구 = An Action Research on the Community-Related·University Design Education by Education for Sustainable Development(ESD)

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This education case study to examine the connection between Education for Sustainable Development(ESD) and University design education. Contents to explore the possibility of real design planning, production and installation for the people of ○ dong, ○ gu, Seoul. One of the final goal of this research is composed of research applying such the Education for Sustainable Development(ESD) in industrial design education. Another is aming to let students attempt various recognition and attempts regarding value. Confronted with internal and external demands, Industrial Design education has continuously evolved from an society, environment, economic issues. As a result, Industrial Design education by restoring its inherent principles and expanding its external values, has become encountered today with ESD. At the beginning, the method of education was around the lecture and indoor design practice for the class. later, the experience was strengthened and the actual practice education was begun. As a result, design corporation for local citizen and society of citizen autonomy. They pursuit integrated curriculum in which work and play are not distinguished and intend to educate real life experience. The characteristics of curriculum in the alternative schools are to pursue unified educational process without dividing work and play. I hope that connection of local community and design education can be studied further for its new method and challenge as an ever changing and developing applied practical study.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 교육사례연구는 지속가능발전교육과 대학 디자인교육 사이의 연결을 시도한다. 내용은 서울시 성북구 삼선동 주민들을 위한 실물 디자인을 기획, 제작, 설치하는 실천 가능성을 찾는 과정으로 구성되었다. 이 연구의 목적은 지속가능발전교육(ESD)을 산업디자인교육에 적용하여 학생들에게 가치에 대한 넓은 인식과 표현력을 갖추게 하는 것에 있다. 따라서 지속가능발전의 원리와 가치가 사회, 환경, 경제, 그리고 산업디자인교육에 있어 필요하다는 당위성을 ESD를 기반삼아 연구하였다. 교육 방법에 있어서 강의와 실내 실습 중심으로 진행되던 것으로부터 현장 답사나 현장 실습 등 체험식 방법으로 전환되는 경험을 하였다. 연구결과는 디자인 협력이 지역과 유리된 별개의 존재가 아니라 지역과의 소통을 통해서 현장교육 경험을 높여 나가는 가능성에 초점을 두고 있다. 학교 교육과정의 영역 속에서 지역사회 관련 내용이 적절하게 용해되어서 학생들에게 가르치는 것의 의미와 지역사회의 다양한 자원들을 학교 교육과정 운영에 활용할 수 있는 가능성을 발견하였다. 지역사회와 디자인교육을 연결하는 본 연구가 향후 보다 다양하고 효율적인 방법론적 접근을 위한 기초연구로 활용되기를 기대한다
