국문 초록 (Abstract)

소형 단계 연구과제는 “먹거리 위험사회와 대안먹거리체계의 모색”으로 지난 3년 간 위험성에 대한 경험적 분석과 대안적 먹거리 체계의 가능성을 탐색하는 연구를 진행하였다.
1차 연도에는 이론연구와 함께 경험조사를 위한 지표를 개발하였다. 첫째, 위험사회론을 근거로 먹거리 위험의 이론적 토대를 마련하였으며, 둘째, 해외 연구사례를 통해 한국적 먹거리 위험성의 특수성을 검토하였고, 셋째, 이러한 연구결과를 기초로 먹거리 위험사회 경험연구를 위한 위험성 지표를 개발하는 연구를 수행하였다. 다양한 영역의 전문가 의견을 수렴하여 보다 타당성이 높은 먹거리 위험지표를 구성하였다.
2차 연도에는 실증적 연구에 집중하였다. ‘한국사회의 먹거리 위험성’에 대한 국민의식조사를 실시하여 먹거리 위험인식ㆍ태도ㆍ행위양식 등에 관한 광범위한 먹거리 데이터를 구축하였다. 이 자료를 근거로 먹거리 위험을 지역, 국가, 그리고 전 지구적 차원에서 조망하는 연구를 진행하였다. 지역 단위에서는 자급력의 위기현상을 진단하였으며, 국가 단위에서는 한국 사회의 먹거리 위험구조의 특성을 규명하였고, 글로벌 단위에서는 먹거리에 대한 초국적 농식품기업의 지배 및 금융화 등에 대한 연구를 통해 먹거리 위험을 다차원적으로 분석하였다. 또한 사회적 배태성의 측면에서 먹거리 대안사례를 분석한 다수의 논문을 게재하였다.
3차 연도에는 지난 2년간의 연구 결과 정리와 성과의 확산에 주력하였다. 이를 위해 세 가지 구체적인 작업을 수행하였다. 첫째, 먹거리 위험성에 대한 보다 심화된 연구를 진행하였다. 연구팀의 집약된 연구결과는 2012년 비판사회학대회 SSK 특별 세션에서 발표되었고, 세 편의 논문이『경제와 사회』통권96호(2012.12)에 특집 ‘먹거리 위험의 사회학’으로 게재되었다. 이를 통해 먹거리 사회학의 정체성 확립에 기여하였다. 둘째, 먹거리 위험성의 국제 비교 연구를 진행했다. 한국의 위험성 조사표를 바탕으로 일본 소비자의 먹거리 위험인식을 조사하였으며, 비교연구 결과는 세계농촌사회학대회에서 발표하였다. 셋째, 연구팀의 성과를 사회적으로 확산시키기 위해 노력하였다. 먹거리 시민강좌를 개최했으며, 학교급식체계를 개선하는 데 크게 기여하였다. 그 결과는 SSK-Networking 지원사업단이 개최하는 사업성과발표회(2012.11.30)에서 “SSK 사업과 정부정책 연계방안”으로 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Our research agenda was “In Search of Alternative Food System in Food Risk Society.” Our research team had worked on the empirical analysis of food risk, and explored the possibility of alternative food system over the past three years.
In the first year, we carried out some theoretical studies and developed food risk indicators for survey research. The first year achievements are as follow. First, we laid the theoretical foundations for food risk which were based on a theory of risk society. Second, we examined the distinctiveness of food risk in South Korea through international case studies. Third, based on these research findings, our research team developed food risk indicators for empirical studies of food risk society. After taking extensive experts’ opinions from various fields, we constructed highly valid food risk indicators.
In the second year, our research team focused on empirical studies. We conducted a survey on ‘Risk of food in South Korea’ and accumulated comprehensive food data that contains perceptions, attitudes and patterns of action of food risk.
