    The most difficult challenge in modern architectural designing is how to design a houses which is closely related and most commensurate with the life of the user.
    The following conclusions have been attained as a result of the study on the user`s attitude toward types of the building in which the language connotations are visually expressed.
    1) Senior citizens including businessman, governmental or private employees prefer flat-roof type, while housewives and students are in favor of the roof-emphasized style of square-roof house.
    2) Most of the students like butterfly roof but the ordinary people dislike it ; The reason must be found in terms of structural or environmental engineering.
    3) It was also found that the type of roof plays most decisive role in the selection of the house by people as the roof is the main factor of the house shaping.
