本考는 「I.
「III.

The overall Korean thoughts, which had been created through the religious exchanges among three religions, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, took root as a main stream of traditional thoughts in Korea, and the other new religions have been influenced with the three religions. This fact can be admitted in general, but, it is said that, among three, the impact of Taoism was wider and more various than those of the others. The evidences of Taoist elements which support the idea are found in Donghak.
Especially in the Suwun's(崔濟愚. 1824-1864) writings are Taoist elements founded variously. Given the fact, we can presume that Suwun's thought had heavily been influenced with Taoism. Therefore, to find how Donghak had definitely been influenced with Taosim takes an important part for studying his thoughts and religious origin.
Considering this fact, Donghak may be an religion which considers the practical and present ideology as its main religious goal. However, closely speculating the religious ascetic practices of Donghak, some transcendental and mysterious parts are found in Donghak.
Following the first chapter "Introduction", the second chapter "the Social Background of Donghak's Creation" deals with the social environments of the 19C Chosun Dynasty, when Donghak was introduced, the trend of civilian Taoism, and the relationship with the other new religions.
In the third chapter "Donghak's Fusion-Thoughts of Three Religions, Confucianism. Buddhism, and Taoism", if the main characteristic of the traditional Korean thoughts is a fusion thought of three religions, we can presume that Donghak accepted the philosophical trend from the various established thoughts to form its own philosophical stream. Therefore, this chapter reviews the process of its acceptance from other philosophical trends, and especially focuses on the philosophical stream of Taoism.
The fourth chapter "Sangjae(上帝, the Supreme) and Jigi(至氣)" reviews the fact that Okhwangsangjae(玉皇上帝, the King of Kings) in Taoism, widely used in civilian Taoism means "infinitely high position", and speculates that, in even Donghalk, the expression "Jigi(至氣)" with Sangjae and Chunju(天主, the Lord of Heaven) was generally used as a meaning of an ultimate being.
In the fifth chapter "Taoism Elements in Religious Practice", it attempts to look into Susimjungki(守心正氣) thought and to review Sinsun(神仙, immortal), Youngbu(靈符), Sunyak(仙藥, a miraculous medicine), and Jangsang(長生, longevity), which present the inflow of the Sinsun thought. Also, the Jisangchunkuk(地上天國, an earthly paradise)thought, which expresses the view of Taoist utopia world is speculated through comparing with the view of the utopia world presented in Taepyengkyong(太平經). The last chapter briefly summarizes the whole contents of this writhing.
