The main purpose of this study is to target university students, the highly active participants in sports, and middle/high school students, the potential future viewers, to determine the relationship between the South Africa World Cup relay broadcasting satisfaction and the cognition of exclusive broadcasting related to 2010 South Africa World Cup SBS exclusive relay broadcasting.
The study selected and surveyed male and female students currently attending high/middle school and university located in the capital region in 2011. In total, 680 survey questionnaire papers were distributed: 180 to middle school students, 200 to high school students, 300 to university students. Among 680, 50 survey papers were considered invalid due to insincerity and omission, therefore 630 survey papers were used in the actual analysis.
In addition, purposive sampling method coded only the valid samples from the collected data and then SPSS Version 18.0 processed them accordingly to purpose. Analysis methods used include factor analysis and reliability analysis of each variable followed by frequency analysis, t-test and One-Way ANOVA. Moreover, in order to determine the relationship between the cognition of exclusive relay broadcasting and the satisfaction level of exclusive relay broadcasting, correlation analysis was followed by multiple regression analysis. Results deducted from these research methods and processes are as follows:
First, cognition differences of survey subjects according to demographic factors on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting are the followings:
1) As a result of analyzing the recognition differences on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting according to gender, higher number of male subjects had negative cognition while higher number of female subjects had positive cognition than male subjects on average.
2) As a result of analyzing the recognition differences on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting according to grade, notable differences were shown in negative cognition.
3) As a result of analyzing the recognition differences on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting according to viewing time, notable differences were shown in negative cognition depending on viewing time.
4) As a result of analyzing the recognition differences on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting according to preferred channel, notable differences were shown in positive cognition.
5) As a result of analyzing the recognition differences on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting according to general cognition, notable differences were shown in positive cognition.
Second, viewer satisfaction level of survey subjects according to demographic factors on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting are the followings:
1) As a result of analyzing the viewer satisfaction level differences on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting according to gender, only the content provided factor showed notable differences.
2) As a result of analyzing the viewer satisfaction level differences on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting according to grade, notable differences were identified in factor values related to video/audio satisfaction and content satisfaction.
3) As a result of analyzing the viewer satisfaction level differences on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting according to residential region, notable differences were identified in factor values related to video/audio satisfaction and content satisfaction.
4) As a result of analyzing the viewer satisfaction level differences on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting according to viewer time, notable differences were identified in factor values related to commentator and castor satisfaction.
5) As a result of analyzing the viewer satisfaction level differences on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting according to preferred channel, notable differences were identified in factor values related to content satisfaction depending on the preferred channels.
6) As a result of analyzing the viewer satisfaction level differences on SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting according to general cognition, notable differences were identified in factor values related to commentator and castor satisfaction and video/audio satisfaction.
Third, as a result of analyzing the relationship between the cognition of exclusive relay broadcasting and the viewer satisfaction level of SBS South Africa World Cup exclusive relay broadcasting, content satisfaction showed notable interrelationship in the case of relationship between negative cognition about exclusive relay broadcasting and viewer satisfaction of exclusive relay broadcasting. On the other hand, in the case of positive cognition, notable interrelationship was identified in commentator and castor satisfaction, video/audio satisfaction, and content satisfaction.
Fourth, as a result of analyzing the effect of exclusive relay broadcasting viewer satisfaction on negative cognition, contents provided from exclusive relay broadcasting satisfaction level in factor values had notable influence on negative cognition.
Fifth, as a result of analyzing the effect of exclusive relay broadcasting viewer satisfaction on positive cognition, contents provided from exclusive relay broadcasting satisfaction level in factor values had notable influence on positive cognition.
