It is the responsibility of the information system to see that potential industrial users know what facilities are available and ensure that libraries and services areproviding what industrialists require. A number of important pieces of work have been carried out and the subject of this review.
The major conclusions reached in this study are briefly given as follows.
1) Many industrial information users do not necessarily use information even when it is readily available to them
2) The process of information flow is a complex one, involving interfaces between variety of communication channels.
3) Industrialists are deeply tired to social, professional and institutional relationship
4) Their particular information problems are usually resolved through contacts within their local working environment by consulting their colleagues.
