근전도 검사 시행 시 유발되는 통증에 대한 진통유도 급속최면요법(RIA)의 효과 = The Effect of Rapid Induction Analgesia on Reducing Pain during Needle Electromyography

Objectives: To investigate the effects of hypnotic analgesia to the pain during electromyographic examination.
Method: Sixty adults who had experienced needle electromyographic examination, were studied. They were randomly assigned to either experimental or control group.
In experimental group, rapid induction analgesia by audio program was applied before needle examination.
In control group, giving a explanation for needle examination by audio program was applied before needle examination.
The intensity of maximal pain & average pain ratings were assessed by the visual analogue scale (VAS). Denial to re-examination was evaluated after EMG study.

Results: The denial to re-examination was significantly lower in expeimental group (p<0.05)
Conclusion: The application of rapid induction analgesia by audio program before needle examination decreased the denial to re-examination and tendency of decreasing pain.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

근전도 검사 시 발생하는 통증이 환자가 검사를 기피하거나 정확한 결과를 얻기 위한 순응도를 저하 시키는 원인이 되므로 이에 대한 진통방법으로 오디오 프로그램을 활용한 진통유도 급속최면요법 (Rapid induction analgesia, RIA)에 대해 연구하였다. 경추나 요추부 신경근 병변이 의심되어 침근전도 검사 시행 예정인 환자를 대상으로, 진통 암시가 포함된 최면 유도가 녹음되어 있는 것을 들려준 실험군, 근전도에 대한 설명이 녹음되어 있는 것을 들려준 대조군으로 나누어 검사하였으며, 시각 상사척도 (Visual Analogue Scale, VAS)를 이용하여 피검자가 경험한 가장 심한 통증정도, 평균 통증을 평가하였고, 근전도 검사에 대한 거부감의 평가를 설문 조사하였다. 최면요법을 받은 군에서 가장 심한 통증 및 평균통증에 대한 시상 통증 척도는 유의하지 않았으나, 재검사에 대한 거부감을 조사한 결과에서는 유의한 차이를 보였다.
