These days, the number of users of O2O food delivery applications has increased due to the increased penetration rate of smartphones, the spread of use, and the convenience of using services. In addition, the use of O2O food delivery applications has been on the rise due to a major change in the "eating culture" due to the recent spread of new coronavirus infections. Amid fierce competition among companies amid such rapid growth in the domestic O2O food delivery market, it has become an important task for users to continue to use O2O food delivery applications, and we want to study factors that may affect their sustainability. Based on the benefits and sacrifices of the use of O2O food delivery applications, this study established a structural relationship hypothesis that perceived value of the service was recognized and that the impact on the intent of continuous use was significantly affected by the application of model of goal-directed behavior(MGB).
For empirical research, this study surveyed consumers in their 20s or older who had at least one O2O food delivery application service experience within the last three months. Using the results of the survey, validity and reliability tests and hypothesis verification were conducted based on 488 samples.
The results from this study are as follows.
First, the usefulness and enjoyment of the benefits were shown to have positive effects on perceived values, but accuracy and timeliness did not have positive effects on perceived values. Second, perceived fee and security risks during sacrifice were shown to have a negative impact on perceived values, but technical and cognitive efforts did not have a negative impact on perceived values. Third, perceived values have been shown to have a positive influence on attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control. Fourth, attitudes and subjective norms have been shown to have positive effects on desire, but perceived behavioral control has no significant impact on desire. Fifth, desire has been shown to have an effect of positive (+) on sustained use intent, and perceived behavioral control has an effect of positive (+) on sustained use intent.
The main implications and implications of this research presented through the research results are as follows.
First of all, this study is considered academically significant in that it had empirically confirmed findings of previously conducted research and it presented a possibility of a new argument in analyzing the structural relations among all those benefits, sacrifice, perceived value and model of goal-directed behavior(MGB).
Second, it was confirmed that usefulness and enjoyment were important factors affecting perceived values, and through this, measures were proposed to increase the continuous intention use through high attitudes, subjective norms, and desire.
Although this study has limitations despite its implications, it is of great significance in that the structural relationship with the intent to continue using the delivery O2O food delivery application is applied to the model of goal-directed behavior based on benefits and sacrifices, and it is expected to be of great help in establishing strategies for O2O food delivery application companies in the future.
