We have considered two different analyses of to-infinitive English constructions; one is that to of to-infinitive English constructions has EPP feature, the position of to-Spec being bound to be filled with NP, and the other, as opposed to the above-mentioned approach, is that to of to-infinitive English constructions has no feature to be checked, and that the position of to-Spec doesn`t have to be filled with any NP except that NP should be involved in feature-checking with the verbs of upper sentences, especially in Exceptional Case-marking sentences. We have also argued that with the focus of analysis on both the Exceptional Case-marking sentences and raising sentences, the latter approach has some advantage over the former one from the perspective of Economy Principle. Finally, we have suggested that like any NP, there should be involved in checking all the features including EPP feature, differently from the traditional assumption that there only involves in EPP checking.
