In general, methods which are using overlapping patterns are more productive, as far as they increase the number of available for hiding patterns in several times. It allows to input more data into binary image. In this work we are presenting the overlapping patterns data hiding, reduced location map technique, and circle data hiding algorithm. The combination of this methods gives us promising results and foundation for future improvements. Pattern substitution (PS) method has been proposed by Ho et al. as a reversible watermarking schema for binary images. Originally there are two variants of PS method: for overlapping patterns and non-overlapping. Unfortunately, their algorithm for overlapping patterns is incomplete. Our schema avoids the confusions presented in PS method, so there are no limits in choosing the pattern for data hiding. The results show higher data hiding capacity without loss in distortion and visual quality.
