상처와 응시- 에코-페미니즘의 관점으로 본 아스따피예프의 물고기-대왕 - = The Wound and Alleviation : V. Astafiev’s <Queen-Fish> from the Viewpoint of Ecofeminism

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 자연이 상징하는 여성적 원리의 발견과 여성성에 대한 재인식, 이분법적 사유체계에 대한 반성을 포괄하는 에코페미니즘의 관점에서 『물고기-대왕』을 분석하였다. 자연과 여성을 동일선상에서 간주하는 것은 자연과 여성이 소위 남성성으로 상징되는 이성 중심의 학문 체계와 근대적인 개발에 의해 희생되었기 때문이다. 자연과 여성성은 조화로운 질서의 세계를 위해 함께 회복되고 치유되어야 할 '상처'와 같다. 이런 맥락에서 아스따피예프의 에코 페미니즘적 관점은 세계의 분리- 인간과 자연, 남성과 여성, 물질과 영혼, 정신과 육체- 로 인한 기존의 상처를 치유하고, 부조리한 세계 질서와 위기에 처한 생태계를 조정하는 여신으로서의 기능을 지향하고 있다.

The Wound and Alleviation : V. Astafiev's <Queen-Fish> from the Viewpoint of Ecofeminism

In this study Astafiev’s <Queen-Fish> is analyzed through the looking-glass of ecofeminism, which embraces the reconsideration about the trend of dichotomy and the discovery of feminine principle symbolized in nature. Regarding nature in the same light with femininity is both nature and women are victimized by national development projects and the dominance of reason in contemporary scholarship. The woman gnawed by increasing pain becomes a symbol of the nature under economic development programs. In this regards, nature and femininity is able to be connected with each other as a ‘wound’, which needs to be cured and restored for the harmonious world system.
However, it is not true that ecofeminism tries simply to overthrow patriarchy and to criticize the anthropocentric view of nature. As it is impossible to consider feminism without patricentric system, there is no place for ecofeminism departed from all sorts of oppression upon a woman. It is why the author insists on the liquidation of binomial contrasts such as man vs. nature, man vs. animal, man vs. woman, man vs. child.
The author of <Queen-Fish> is very emphatic on the importance of the fact that a man is a product of nature and, thus, a man is identical with nature. The author’s Weltanschauung is personified with a humane character, one of the main characters Akim. He is a man who takes care of women, children, and animals, unlike poachers who destroy nature for self-interest. He is also a man of believing that life and death is connected with each other like a Möbius band.
As is known to us by the figure of Akim, who put in practice a code of conduct by Gaia hypothesis, literature of ecofeminism aims at functioning as a goddess of treating all sorts of wounds and ecosystem at a crisis.
