디지털 시대의 실용적 지리사진 촬영방법 제안 = Proposed Practical Geographic Photo-taking Method in the Digital Era

In the digital era, two elements must be considered for efficient and practical photo-taking of geography: equipment and technique. In terms of equipment, having adequate digital cameras, lenses, and supplementary equipment is important. Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras are practical to use. FX-type cameras are more advantageous, but DX-type cameras are good enough considering economic efficiency. A wide ~ standard angle zoom lens is required, but a `faster lens` would be better. Supplementary equipment such as polarized filter and tripod are useful. With regard to the photography technique, selecting the appropriate subjects and objects for geography photos and using an efficient photo-taking technique are essential. Photographers should get as close to the subject as possible so that the subject fills the frame; at the same time, however, they should also follow the `3-division rule` if possible. The subject should be simplified as much as possible, with the subsidiary subject (man, natural feature, etc.) utilized. The `magical time` of a day should be used, if possible. Staying in a place longer is recommended so that one can take many shots under different conditions (angle, frame, exposure, etc.). Photographs should be saved in JPEG format, although selected originals should be converted into TIFF format to prevent the deterioration of picture quality.
