As the number of product variants in a company increases and the life cycles of those products decrease, an efficient management of product data has become an important issue. To cope with these situation effectively, the object-oriented approaches have been applied as an alternative to the traditional approaches. In this paper, conceptual modeling of an object-oriented product data management system is suggested by applying Rumbaugh's Object-Modeling Technique. In modeling the system, we focus on the dynamic modeling for the efficient management of frequent changes in engineering data and functional modeling to represent data flow between the objects identified.
