The Pt-Rh/Al2O3 catalysts were prepared in an attempt to overcome the limitation of the narrow temperature window for NO reduction with C3H6 in the presence of excess oxygen. The impregnated Pt-Rh/Al2O3 catalyst by incipient wetness method did not show high NO conversion as well as high N2 selectivity owing to the rapid oxidation of C3H6 to CO2. But the mechanically attrited Pt-Rh/Al2O3 catalyst could be an effective catalyst for NO reduction in a quite wide temperature window by preventing the spillover of the adsorbed C3H6 from Rh to Pt surface.
