노년기 가치관이 정치의식에 미치는 영향 = (The) Effect of Values at Senescence on Political Awareness

This research examines whether there is a difference in political awareness according to characteristics of old aged population in the community, and to see whether political awareness changes according to senescence political awareness, it examined the relationship between senescence values and political awareness from 2003 Oct. 15th to Nov. 30th, targeting 352 old aged who reside in Choongnam, by visiting and conducting a survey beginning with those that use the welfare hall, class, regional arbor and in-apartment arbors for the old aged.
If the result of the research is summarized, it is like the following.
First, as a result of examining the general tendency of the values nd political awareness of the old aged, the value of collectivism was shown to be higher than the value of individualism, and for their political awareness, national awareness was shown to be the highest, then political interest and then political trust.
Second, as a result of analyzing the difference in values according to the characteristics of old aged, high school graduates showed higher value in collectivism and there was not any meaningful relationship with other characteristics.
Third, among the political awareness of the old aged, it was shown that political interest was relatively positive in old aged men, old aged who are married, old aged who are elementary school graduates to university gradauates and old aged who cohabit with a spouse. Political trust was shown to be relatively higher in old aged women, old aged who are in their 70s rather than 60s, old aged who are high school and university graduates, and old aged whose place of birth is Choongchungdo. National awareness of the old aged was shown to be high in old aged men, old aged who are married, and old aged who are in their 70s rather than 60s or 80s.
Fourth, as a result of understanding the effect of values of old aged in political awareness, value of collectivism, sex, academic background and value of individualism meaningfully affected, and among them, the causethat is the most effective was the value of collectivism.
That is, in the case of old aged men, it was shown that the higher the academic background, the stronger the value of collectivism, and the stronger the value of collectivism, they showed more positive political interest. In the political trust of the old aged, it was shown that predictive cause that gave effect were in the order of value of individualism, sex, age, and academic background, and among them, the most effective causewas the value of individualism. Precisely, in the case of old aged women, the higher the age, the lower the academic background, the higher the value of individualism, the higher the political trust. Lastly, in national awareness of the old aged, only the value of collectivism and sex gave a meaningful effect, and the value of collectivism was the most effective predictive cause.
That is, in the case of old aged men, it was shown that the stronger the value of collectivism, they showed higher national awareness.
