2000년대 초 한국 영화 정책의 특징적 경향 -IMF사태 이후 김대중 정권의 영화진흥법 개정을 통해 = A Study on the Characteristic Tendency of Korean Film Policy in the Early 2000s －Focused on the Revision of Film Promotion Act under Kim Dae-Jung Government－

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

I researched the characteristic tendency of Korean film policy in the early 2000s through the revision of Film Promotion Act under Kim Dae-jung government. Especially, I concentrated on the time from 2000 to 2002 when the direction of Korean government’s film policy toward 21st century was adjusted concretely under ‘IMF system’. The 3rd Film Promotion Act was revised by Act No. 6186 on January 21, 2000. The detailed contents about the classification-of-indications system of Korea Media Rating Board and the statutory requirement of Korean Film Council changed only a few. And, the 4th Film Promotion Act was revised by Act No. 6632 on January 26, 2002. Although most frameworks were maintained, in detailed contents, it was broadly changed compared with the 3rd Film Promotion Act. The 3rd Film Promotion Act and the 4th Film Promotion Act can be summarized by a keyword called deregulation, specialization, and globalization. It is the result of reflecting neo-liberal worth of an IMF system in law. Moreover, It can be said a example which shows neo-liberalism was institutionalized in Korean filmdom.
