지속가능한 주거생활을 지원하는 지역사회 기반 서비스혁신 디자인 연구

This research aims to propose community service model supporting sustainable living. Many ecologists insist that our planet reached the limits to the growth of human beings. The human beings have to reduce by as much as 90% of energy and material consumption in the next 40 years to meet human needs within the earth's carrying capacity. It will be physically impossible for our nations to achieve our material living standards with exiting 'industrial age' technologies.
Today, we must change our society and economy system to sustain our civilization. Our society needs new paradigm and new lifestyle. We need to learn to live better with consuming fewer environmental resources. In other words, we need to live up to the sustainable living. The sustainable living is the heathy living to pursue the wellbeing in the changes of society and economy system for meeting ecological sustainablity. It is not easy to live with practicing the sustainable living in the society of consumption. It needs the community service that facilitates and supports a new type of living. The community service can help for people to fit into the transition toward sustainable society.
This research discussed about the concept and value of sustainable society to create of new community service concepts. I surveyed the understanding of sustainable living and the basic attitude of living to understand the receivers of community service. Our majority of people knew that the current living style have to be changed to the sustainable living style according to the survey on the understanding of sustainable living. However, the survey showed also that 61.8 percent of people increased their energy consumption. This means that common people know the necessity of changing for sustainability theoretically, but they do not try and start the change in their life. I investigated various sustainable living idea in world wide scale. This research process made for me to come up with the service design concepts and service ideas.
I suggested the new community service system in this research, which is the system supporting and facilitating sustainable living of community members and helping the transformation of existing society and economy system. The new model of community service system has the service platforms as a kind of operating systems for sustainable service ideas. This service platform is a key that opens the door between current living and sustainable living. There are four different service platforms in this research. The product circulation/rental service platform can offer rental service of all of product, managing service the maintenance and recycling of product, renewing service of scrapped materials, and maintain the public goods for community by directly or indirectly participating various social organizations and enterprises. The group purchasing service platform can offer the online and offline place that community members order the organic food or goods from local producer. The sharing land/space service platform can offer the connecting service between land or space owner and lender, rental service and managing service of community public space, and the information and ideas of practical use for a land and a space. The socializing service platform can offer the community members online and offline places to be involved in community in various way and all kinds of information and ideas of cultural event for the community. These service platforms are very flexible and adjustable to various service idea and service provider.
This research showed the creation of the new model of community service system with design tool. Design for living is the skill of communicating, predicting the idea, imagination, and expression of participator and the process of making living.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

우리 정부는 현재 지속가능성의 소극적 해석을 벗어나 생태적 근대화론에 근거하여 경제적 가치를 창출하는 녹색성장을 내세우고 있으며, 이는 정부, 사회, 국민 모두의 적극적 참여와 노력의 뒷받침을 요구한다. 이에 본 연구는 지속가능성과 녹색성장이라는 정책적 대안에서 더 나아가 시민과 사회, 정부가 함께 모색하는 구체적 지속가능한 주거생활의 실천방향을 찾고자 한다. 삶의 방식은 사회구조와 밀접하게 연관된 생활문화에 기반 한 것으로 생활의 변화는 지역사회와 개개인을 중심으로 한 여러 공동체가 함께 노력하고 문제해결을 위한 새로운 커뮤니티 형성을 통해서만 가능해진다.
본 연구는 녹색성장을 이루기 위해 우리 사회가 풀어야 할 ‘지속가능한 주거생활’을 서비스 추구형 주거생활기반으로 도출한다. 더 나아가 새로운 주거생활을 위한 지역사회 서비스 요소를 구체화하고 원활한 서비스 전달을 이루는 서비스인터페이스 요소를 서비스혁신 디자인을 통해 제시하고자 한다.
연구의 진행은 2장에서 문헌조사를 통한 지속가능한 사회에 대한 이론연구와 지속가능한 주거생활 디자인의 이론적 고찰을 통해 올바른 지속가능한 주거생활 디자인의 기본 방향을 설정하였다. 3장에서는 녹색성장으로의 국가발전 패러다임 변화를 겪고 있는 한국 사람들의 지속가능한 주거생활에 대한 인식도조사를 통해 연구의 필요성과 디자인의 가능성을 점검하였다. 4장에서는 ‘지속가능한 주거생활’의 실천적 방향 모색과 커뮤니티 기반 서비스의 가능성을 사례조사를 통해 구체적으로 도출하였다. 5장에서는 지속가능한 주거생활의 서비스 디자인의 방향을 모색하고 이를 토대로 서비스 시스템 디자인을 진행하였다. 디자인은 새로운 개념의 서비스 전달과정으로서 서비스 시스템 모형을 개발하고 이에 기반 한 서비스 아이디어 도출까지로 제한한다.
지속가능성을 위한 디자인은 우리의 습관, 라이프스타일, 제품들을 새롭게 디자인하는 것뿐만이 아니라 우리사회에서 디자인이 가지는 의미에 대한 인식도 새롭게 하는 것이다. 우리는 지속가능성이라는 단어의 의미를 디자인적 사고에서 재해석해 볼 필요가 있다. 지속가능성은 마을, 지역, 글로벌 규모 등 모든 스케일에서 적용할 수 있으며 유연성이 있는 커뮤니티를 만들어가는 디자인 과정이다.
지속가능한 주거생활이란 인간이 환경적으로 건전하고 사회ㆍ경제적으로 안정된 주거기반 위에서 생태적으로 건강한 생활의 실천을 행하는 것으로 최소한 다음세대에게도 같은 질의 주거생활을 영위할 수 있도록 하는 것이다.
본 연구에서는 현대를 살아가는 도시민들에게 제품 추구형 생활 대신에 지속가능한 주거생활의 바른 대안이 될 서비스 추구형 생활을 제안한다. 여기서 서비스 추구형 생활이란 인간의 건강한 생활환경을 기반으로 하는 건전한 삶의 질 추구를 만들어가는 과정이며 제품의 소유와 소비에 대한 욕구적 목적대신에 필요의 충족을 다양한 형식의 서비스로 대체하는 것을 말한다. 도시민들에게 커뮤니티 중심의 변화를 가능하게 하기 위해 본 연구에서는 커뮤니티의 변화를 돕는 유연한 서비스 시스템을 디자인하였다. 지속가능한 주거생활을 지원하는 커뮤니티 서비스는 생태환경의 부정적 영향을 최소로 줄이고 긍정적 영향을 최대로 늘이는 것을 통한 인간과 생태의 바른 상생을 가능하게 한다.
