청소년 우대제도 및 청소년증에 대한 실태분석에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Youth Support Systems and Youth cards through the Analysis of Youths’ Opinions

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The present study investigated on the development of youth support systems and youth cards. Participants for this study were 1,004 youth aged 9 to 24 from all over the country. The results from the youth survey were as follows: The need for a youth support system(96.8%) was high, but the degree of perception(10.6%) and the degree of satisfaction(about 30%) were low. Especially in the case of the youth card, only 4.7% of youth and 10.6% of non-students had the card, leading many people to question whether the government had performed such a youth policy effectively. In conclusion, this study proposed policy alternatives for improving the youth support systems as follows. First, various incentives should be given to community facilities and institutions for their cooperation and encouragement of youth to participate in the program. Second, sections should be added as necessary into the local government law in order to help operate the youth support system. Third, there is needed to expand the number of venues providing discounts, increase the discount rates, and reinforce public relations to promote the use of youth cards. Lastly, the process of acquiring a youth card should be simplified. Furthermore, a new youth card integrating the various benefits of student cards and youth cards should be developed.
