『윤리와 사상』, 『전통 윤리』 교과서의 ‘환경 윤리’ 내용 분석 및 개선 방향

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 우리 사회의 가장 예민한 주제어들 중의 하나가 ‘환경’이다. 우리는 지금 이것을 새만금 간척 사업과 지율 스님의 단식을 통해서 확인하고 있다. 이것은 인간과 자연의 관계가 별개의 것으로 결코 독립적일 수 없음을 의미하는 한편, 교육 현장에서 생태학적인 깨달음과 의식에 관한 윤리 교육의 필요성을 요청하고 있음을 의미한다고 할 수 있다. 왜냐 하면 위의 사례들은 모두 인간의 자연에 대한 도덕적 고려와 관련되어 있기 때문이다. 환경에 관한 윤리 교육적 접근에 대한 이와 같은 요구는 제7차 교육 과정에서 동양과 서양, 그리고 우리의 전통적인 자연관을 윤리 교과에 대폭 반영하는 결과를 가져왔다. 그렇지만 과도한 의욕은 내용의 중복과 체계의 비일관성, 그리고 부적절한 용어의 도입과 전통적인 자연관을 이루고 있는 내용 누락, 동양의 전통적인 자연관(유불도)과 가이아 가설의 무리한 결합 등의 경우처럼 다소 보완해야 할 필요성을 우리에게 과제로 동시에 남겨주었다. 따라서 이 글에서는 환경 윤리 교육을 요청하는 시대의 필요성과 이에 대해 현재의 ‘윤리와 사상’, 그리고 ‘전통 윤리’ 교과가 적절히 대응할 수 있는 방안에 대해 살펴보려고 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문은 우선, 현재 교육하고 있는 ‘윤리와 사상, 그리고 ’전통 윤리‘ 교과서에 대해 비판적인 재검토를 하려고 하며, 이를 통해 바람직한 내용 구성과 체계 정립을 위한 방향을 모색하고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

‘Environment’ is one of the most acute topics in our society. Now, we make observation through "Saemangum land reclamation project" and "a hunger strike of Ji-yul priest.", which means that Nature is indispensable to human beings, furthermore, that our society requires the ethics education for ecological consciousness. That's because the above cases are related to the moral consideration of human for nature. This requirement of environmental ethics education has been reflected on the ethics in the 7th National curriculum : the view of Orient and West for nature, our traditional attitude for nature. However, hasty enthusiasm has brought about the problem of repetition, incoherence of contents and system, adoption of ambiguous and vague conception, omission of traditional view for nature, and unreasonable combination of Confucianism-Buddhism-Taoism and Gaia hypothesis. Accordingly, the necessity of correction and addition is demanded. On this paper, we will search for solutions about how appropriately the subject of 'Ethics and Thoughts - Traditional Ethics ' can accept the requirement of environmental ethics education. This thesis will go over the Textbook, 'Ethics and Thoughts - Traditional Ethics' critically, and then, formulate a plan for constructing desirable contents and establishing systematical contexts.
