한국사회 휴가정치의 동학, 1987-1997 -경영담론을 중심으로- = The Dynamic of Leave Politics, 1987-1997 -Focused on Management Discourses-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper examines the meaning of paid leave in the context of management discourses between the 87 Labor Movement and the 97 Economic Crisis. To find out some discursive factors structuring `the discontinuous minimized` leave, it reviewed historical records on how holiday and paid leave were decreased by management discourses for dominance. Its study results show that the logic of waste elimination under the condition of New Management Strategy has changed not only labor time but family time, free time, leisure time and so on since the 87 Labor Movement. The logic corresponds with discoursive power and practice of minimizing holidays and of enforcing sacrifice on the labor. The discourse of sacrifice, like such discourses as overconsumption, productivity, labor ethics, global standard, and economic crisis, has been deployed for legitimacy of the reduction of free time. Sacrifice discourse made holidays and paid leaves `social waste,` `inefficient habit` and `undisciplined time,` and blocked substantive democratization of time.
