음악지각인지 연구 고찰을 통한 무조음악 교육을 위한 제언 = The Suggestion for Atonal Music Education based on a Review of Research on Music Perception

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper begins by Leonard B. Meyer's statement, "music has meaning” in Emotion and Meaning in music. Music is used as form of communication of human-beings. For the study of the process of discovering meaning latent in music, I have reviewed cognitive researches on music perception. The problem of misleading musical meaning in atonal music is reasoned by the premise based on the tonal music perception. When we listen to diverse and complex music of twentieth-century, our perception's judgment comes from the cognitive progression of tonal music. For this reason, many student who don't have enough experience on atonal music have been a difficult situation when they listen to atonal music. In this respect, I try to suggest the proposal relating to our educational curriculum for atonal music in music colleges.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

서양음악의 공통관습 어법의 ‘조성’(Tonality)은 현재 우리가 살고 있는 21세기 시대에도 여전히 음악청취의 보편적 원리로 적용되고 있다. 무조음악(Atonal music)이 실험된 후 100년 이상이 지난 지금까지도 ‘무조성’(Atonality) 음향에 대해 음악을 전공하는 학생들조차 여전히 거부반응을 보이고 있는 것이 현실이지만, 이에 대한 진지한 논의는 많이 부족했던 것이 사실이다. 이에 필자는 본 연구에서 음악의 청취과정에 대한 선 연구들을 살펴보며 무조음악 소통의 어려움의 원인을 유추해본다. 이를 극복하기 위해 한국의 주요 음악대학들의 교육 커리큘럼을 살펴보고, 음악대학의 교육 과정 고찰을 통해 여전히 무조음악 교육을 위한 체계적인 커리큘럼이 부재함을 확인하며, 20-21세기의 음악 교육에 대한 진지한 고민과 논의가 필요함을 피력한다. 무조음악의 ‘의미’있는 청취, ‘의미’있는 연주, ‘의미’있는 소통을 위해서 음악대학 교육 커리큘럼의 점검, 재고, 변화의 노력을 구하고자 한다.
