빅데이터의 형성과 전유체제 비판 = The Critique of Big Data Formation and Appropriation System

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현재 각광을 받고 있는 빅데이터에 관한 실용적인 논의는 빅데이터의 생산 방식보다는 빅데이터의 추후적 활용에 집중되고 있다. 이러한 실용적인 접근은 이미 만들어진 빅데이터를 어떻게 여러 가지 용도로 활용할 것인가를 추구한다. 그래서 빅데이터가 만들어지는 과정이나 그것이 갖는 사회적인 위상을 분석하지 않는다. 빅데이터에 대한 비판적인 접근은 빅데이터가 만들어지는 방식, 만들어진 빅데이터가 활용되는 방식 두 가지 차원에서 전개될 수 있다. 빅데이터에 관한 비판적인 논의는 빅데이터의 활용과 관련하여 프라이버시와 통제에 집중되고 있지만 빅데이터의 중요한 문제 지형은 이용자 활동의 전유와 관련된 영역에서 이루어지고 있다. 이 논문에서는 빅데이터에 관한 푸코주의의 감시사회론에 관한 논의 지평을 넘어 현실 정보 사회의 기반으로 자리 잡고 있는 빅데이터 형성의 사회경제적 성격을 해명하는 발판을 마련하고자 한다. 이 논문에서는 빅데이터가 형성되는 과정에서 ‘이용자가 생산한 가치(user-generated value)’의 행방이 어떻게 되는지를 추적하고, 이용자 활동을 포획하는 기계로서의 플랫폼이 어떤 위상을 갖는지를 분석할 것이다. 그 결과 이용자들이 자신이 만든 활동 결과물로부터 소외되는 현상과 그에 대한 대안으로서의 ‘기본소득(basic income)’의 논리적 의미를 제시하고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The issue on big data is in now on the mode. The practical approaches on big data is centered on how to make profit out of it. On the other hand the critical approach emphasizes the privacy problem and the becoming of big brother. These approaches have common aspects dealing the results of big data. Comparing to these approaches this paper would concentrate on the formation of big data and appropriation of it by big internet service companies like Google and Facebook. They appropriate user generated contents and users activities(peer production) with their platform automatically. The big companies take the results of users activities and have monopolistic right on the big data. This paper will provide the analysis about the process of big data formation and the surplus appropriation by the big companies. The wealth accumulated by the appropriation of big data would be redistributed by basic income and anti-monopoly movement by the users.
