The main object of this study is to examine the spatial patterns of the health care delivery in Kang-Weon Do. The data used are address books requested at reception rooms and a questionare. As a whole to analyze them, the study areas were divided into Gun and Myeon in which mapping and descriptive statistics are used.
Description of health care resources by the Gun and Myeon in Kang Weon Do, and health care seeking behavior by the type of payment and hospital service areas are investigated. The major findings of this study are as follows,
(1) Seven cities in Kang-Weon Do have 85% beds, 69.2% clinics, and 80.3% doctors, result show that health care resources including physicians are concentrated in cities.
(2) Over 70% of Self-sufficient services are attained within the Gun area where the hospitals fare located. Hospital service area in Weonju is the western side of Tae-Baeck Mt. and Dong-in Hospital in Kangreung city serves most of the eastern side.
(3) In the type of payment, Patients who use medicare program are 65.9%. Based on a survey, the incentive of choice is the distance and the expenses.
(4) Hospital service areas are divided by the primate cities, Chuncheon city, Weonju city and Kangreung city.
